Barclays Capital has made its most senior hire yet for its London-based investment banking business with the appointment of Citigroup’s former head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa as co-head of its corporate finance division.

Tom King, who quit Citigroup last month as head of Emea corporate and investment banking, has replaced Joe Gatto as Barclays Capital co-head of corporate finance, according to a statement. The appointment comes as the UK bank looks to expand its European business
