KKR sees fourth-quarter fall amid record cash available to shareholders

The value of KKR’s private-equity portfolio climbed 6% during the quarter compared with an 11% gain for the S&P 500

KKR’s fourth-quarter earnings fell as the change in the value of its investments lagged behind the broader market, while cash available to shareholders more than doubled to a fresh record.

The private-equity firm reported net income of $507.6m, or 82 cents a share, in the final quarter of 2021, versus $1.48bn, or $2.46 a share, a year earlier.
