Knight rules Mack back in the Morgan Stanley race

Charles Knight, the Morgan Stanley director running the bank's search for a new chief executive, has reversed his position over whether John Mack should be considered for the top job. Two weeks ago he ruled him out. Now he has ruled him in.

The Wall Street Journal, citing an unnamed person briefed on the situation, reports that Knight has stopped insisting that the Morgan Stanley board keep to a previous public statement that it would not consider Mack.
