KPMG admits to misconduct on BNY Mellon asset reports

The news is a fresh blow in what has already been a difficult year for the auditing giant

KPMG and one of its partners have admitted misconduct in relation to work carried out for BNY Mellon, one of the world's largest custody banks.

The UK Financial Reporting Council said KPMG and Richard Hinton had admitted their conduct “fell significantly short” of the required standard when they sent compliance reports on BNY Mellon's international and London operations to regulators in 2011.
