KPMG fined £700k for failing to question supplier payments

The FRC discounted the fine to £455,000 due to KPMG's cooperation and early settlement

KPMG UK and one of its senior partners have been fined by the UK’s auditing watchdog for failing to challenge a client over the information provided on complicated supplier payments during an audit.

The Big Four firm’s initial fine of £700,000 was discounted to £455,000 because it cooperated and reached an early settlement, the Financial Reporting Council, the sector watchdog, said on 2 April.
