Royal KPN's advisers could soon get the opportunity for more work after Joop Drechsel, general director of the Dutch telecoms company, reignited speculation that there could still be a merger with Spain's Telefónica.
Although he did not go as far as saying that there would definitely be a deal, Drechsel said he would not rule out the chances of one. A spokesman for KPN said: "What we keep saying is that the deal would have been a good fit and that it still can be a good fit."
