Kravis warns buyout firms of growing hedge fund threat

Henry Kravis, a founding partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, has warned investors of the increased threat posed by cash-rich hedge funds competing against private equity houses for buy-out assets.

The buy-out veteran, who pioneered the use of leveraged finance to acquire companies in the early 1970s, said hedge funds were awash with capital from investors looking for yield.
