Labour is not looking at a windfall tax or a transaction levy on the banking sector if it wins power at the general election, according to reports.

Taxes like the surcharge on bank profits will be left alone in any attempts to run a balanced budget, as will a tax on financial transactions, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the matter.
