Philippe Lagayette, the head of JP Morgan France since 1998, is to assume direct responsibility for the bank's French investment banking activities.

The new role follows the departure of Guillaume d'Angerville as head of investment banking in France. According to La Lettre de L'Expansion, a French financial paper, d'Angerville has been named as head of European public sector companies coverage.
