Andrew Lake, European high-yield fund manager at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, has joined F&C Asset Management where he will run its high-yield bond funds.

The move comes days after US fund manager BlackRock announced it was taking control of MLIM. Lake's departure is not thought to be connected, sources close to the company said.
