Two fifths of staff working in the asset management market are privately educated and just 1% are black, according to a landmark study that exposes the stark lack of diversity in the industry.

The results, obtained by Financial News, make the investment management industry one of the worst performers in terms of diversity and reinforces concerns the sector is an ‘old boys’ club’ that promotes and protects the interests of white, middle-aged men.
