Large banks set out to catch smaller IPOs

The largest banks are ‘stealing the lunch’ of mid-tier rivals and working on smaller IPOs

Bulge-bracket investment banks are increasingly chasing down the value chain when it comes to initial public offerings in Europe.

A scarcity of deals has forced the big beasts of banking to fish for smaller fry. Bankers also say there are other considerations, such as maintaining client relationships and keeping the door open for future business, big banks bear in mind when acting for small firms.
