Lazard and Crédit Agricole set to end alliance

Lazard is preparing the next step in the gradual streamlining of its ownership structure, with a planned merger of Rue Impériale and Eurazeo, two of the holding companies through which the founding families continue to wield their influence over the investment bank.

People familiar with the group said the plan, which would increase liquidity in the two listed companies' shares, would facilitate the eventual sale by Crédit Agricole of its 23.6% stake in Rue Impériale.
