Lazard hires Stonehill from CSFB to run capital markets

Thornburgh moves up to chief risk officer at Credit Suisse

Lazard has hired Charles Stonehill from Credit Suisse First Boston as global head of capital markets in the latest addition to high profile team of senior bankers brought in under Bruce Wasserstein.

The move reunites Stonehill with Chuck Ward, president of Lazard, who joined the frim from CSFB in February. In his new role, Stonehill will take charge of Lazard's equity and fixed income franchises, with responsibility for the sales, trading, research, underwriting and derivatives businesses.
