In an effort to propel itself into Japan's major league for investment banking, Lazard has lured Arthur Ozeki from JPMorgan to co-head its Japanese investment banking team.

Ozeki will be working alongside Yasushi Hatakeyma, Lazard's other co-head of Japanese investment banking based in New York. JPMorgan will be making an internal appointment within the next few days to fill the role of head of Japanese mergers and acquisitions left vacant by Ozeki's move. Hiro Tsubouchi remains JP Morgan's head of Japanese investment banking.
