Lazard moves into middle market

Lazard has made its first full acquisition, buying a middle-market boutique as midsize M&A deals grow in popularity and rival investment banks also snap up small advisory firms.

The investment bank acquired Goldsmith Agio Helms, bringing its new owner 90 professionals in Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Shanghai. Lazard did not disclose how much it paid.
