Lazard has set its sights on the increasingly competitive mid-market private equity sector with the creation of a principal finance unit in London.

The move sees the arrival of two buy-out specialists, Graham Keniston-Cooper, a former partner at Cinven who left the firm in December 2002, and Victor Vadaneaux, a former partner at Advent International.
