LCH.Clearnet has unveiled plans to protect buyside assets under new swaps rules, reigniting criticism among market participants over a lack of harmonisation on how clearing houses will safeguard collateral.
The clearing house's account structures brochure, which was handed to clients last week, is a response to new rules contained in the European Market Infrastructure Regulation ̶ Europe's answer to the G20 2009 commitments to reduce systemic risk in the swaps market.
