LCH sees volumes increase by 40%

The London Clearing House, which clears trades for the London Stock Exchange and Liffe, among others, saw volumes increase 40% during 2001.

Overall trade volume for exchange-traded and over-the-counter transactions rose from 224 million contracts in 2000 to 315 million contracts last year. These trades represent notional values cleared of €168.1 trillion (£105.1 trillion).
