Legal changes are set to boost the growth of the Spanish synthetic securitisation and credit derivatives market.

Despite the widespread use of credit derivatives elsewhere in Europe, just three Spanish banks – Caja Madrid, Santander Central Hispano (SCH) and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria – regularly use credit derivatives.
