The merger between DLA, the European law firm, and Piper Rudnick, a US firm, will create a global giant ranked in the top three of global mergers and acquisitions by volume.

The combined firm will have over 2,700 lawyers in 18 countries and projected 2005 revenues of $1.5bn (€1.1bn).
