Lehman boards distressed debt train to boost returns

Lehman Brothers Private Equity, a listed fund of funds, has become the latest investment company to turn its attention to distressed debt funds in an attempt to capitalise on a downturn in the credit markets.

The Lehman buyout fund, which listed on the Euronext Amsterdam in July, said 31% of capital has been invested in funds that include investments in distressed debt and restructurings since its initial public offering.
