Christian Meissner, co-head of European equity capital markets at Goldman Sachs, has left the bank and is understood to be joining Lehman Brothers in Frankfurt in a senior investment banking role.
Meissner, a former managing director responsible for Goldman's German ECM business was made co-head of European ECM in March 2002 alongside Matthew Westerman and promoted to partner last October. He worked on some of the biggest equity issues in Europe in the late 1990s and in 2000, such as the Deutsche Telekom share sales and the IPO of Infineon Technologies, the German semi-conductor company, which at the time was the largest corporate IPO in Europe.
