Lehman lines up Gregory as Fuld's heir apparent

Richard Fuld, chairman and chief executive of Lehman Brothers, has lined up Joseph Gregory, currently co-chief operating officer at the bank, as his apparent successor, appointing him to the role of president and sole chief operating officer.

Gregory has become the second most senior executive at Lehman after being promoted ahead of Bradley Jack. Until now he had shared the number two spot with Jack - with both having the title of co-chief operating officer.
