Lehman records fall in profits for first quarter

Profits at Lehman Brothers Holdings were down by nearly a third in the first quarter with the bank one of four to report a decline this week.

Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Bear Stearns have also found that times have become harder. Morgan Stanley's profits fell by 30% and Bear Stearns' by 40%. Goldman's figures were down by 13%.
