Lehman Brothers has appointed a former senior BNP Paribas banker to originate debt to fund leveraged buyouts in France and Spain.

Patrice Maffre had been on gardening leave from BNP Paribas since late May when he decided to leave the French investment bank. Maffre worked for the BNP Paribas for nine years, working within its leveraged finance team. He joined Lehman this week as an executive director.
