Leonard Green closes private equity superfund at $1.85bn

Leonard Green & Partners, a US private equity firm specialising in market leader buy-outs, has closed its fourth fund at $1.85bn (€1.76bn), one of the largest in the past year.

Leonard Green hired CSFB as a placement agent to target European investors in a move to expand from its existing base of US state pension funds and insurance companies, raising the fund in six months.
