Lethargy and competition issues dog M&A business

The region is at a low ebb, but bankers hope the tide is turning,

There is a strong feeling of exasperation among investment bankers in the Nordic region. They feel particularly hard hit by the global slowdown in M&A activity as the passing of the technology hurricane has taken the wind out of many companies' sails.

'The fighting spirit of the Nordic countries has gone a little. If you come with a big idea to a Nordic company, they find 10 or more reasons not to do it,' one Swedish banker complains.
