Lexington nears $12bn for world’s biggest secondary fund

Fund would be the largest ever raised to buy stakes in private equity vehicles

Lexington Partners is nearing its $12bn target for what would be the largest fund ever raised to buy stakes in private equity funds, according to people familiar with the matter.

The New York-based firm informed its investors last month that it had received about $10bn in commitments and was on course to reach, if not exceed, its target, the people said.
