Legal & General has unveiled the new head of its retail customer division, promoting Chris Knight to lead the unit which oversees £20 billion in assets and has 500,000 customers.

The insurance giant confirmed in a statement on January 16 that Knight, previously the chief financial officer of L&G Retirement, had stepped up to the role.
