Liberal Democrats: The Tories are no longer the party of business

The party's business secretary says voters have an opportunity to 'take back control' and show Theresa May she cannot pursue Brexit at any cost

When the country voted in the EU referendum, the decision was framed as a choice between safeguarding the economy or controlling immigration. Theresa May has chosen to control immigration, and she is willing to sacrifice our place in the European single market to do so.

Some political pundits have suggested that an increased majority for the Conservatives would give Theresa May the buffer she needs to pursue a softer form of Brexit. This is an illusion.
