Liberty Group in South Africa is buying 100% of the Liberty Ermitage Group, the UK hedge fund firm it used to have a stake in for £33.5m (€56.2m) from Liberty International.

Liberty International is pulling out of the financial services industry in the UK to focus on property investments. The move follows the sale of Liberty Pensions, its defined contribution business, to Schroder Investment Management earlier this year.
