Linklaters & Alliance was the leading adviser on European M&A deals for the first half of 2000, according to figures from Thomson Financial Securities Data.

The law firm advised on 82 completed deals involving a European target or acquirer, with a combined value of $390bn (€411bn). In the same period last year, Linklaters came in third. The data excludes split-offs, open market repurchases and withdrawn deals.
