Lion Capital, the consumer-focused private equity firm, has hired a senior executive from UK mid-market house Equistone as its chief operating officer, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Simon Brown, who has been chief financial officer and chief risk officer at Equistone since 2011, formerly the captive private equity arm of Barclays, is set to join Lion Capital as COO.
