Dark pool operator Liquidnet has started offering clients a series of new algorithms that can sweep lit and dark markets ahead of new European rules that will place limits on how much trading can be conducted anonymously.

The Next Gen Algo suite will be offered to clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa through the venue's Execution and Quantitative Services business, an execution-only agency broker.
