Lloyds Banking Group has named a new head of global transaction banking, a business many banks are finding helps them strike long-lasting relationships with corporate customers.

Ed Thurman will take the role of managing director of global transaction banking next month, when existing divisional head Adrian Walker becomes investment management director of Lloyds' group transformation unit.
