LME picks former UBS banker as next chief executive

The London Metal Exchange has given its interim chief executive the role on a permanent basis, handing responsibility to a former UBS banker who advised the operator of Hong Kong’s stock market on its acquisition of the commodities exchange in 2012.

Matthew Chamberlain's appointment as CEO is effective immediately, the LME and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing said in a statement on Friday, subject to approval by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority.
