London broking foes bury the hatchet in New York

Icap, the inter-dealer broker built by Michael Spencer, has taken a minority stake in the new US equities venture backed by Joel Plasco, former chief executive of UK investment bank Collins Stewart, after the two men spent years on opposite sides of a great London broking rivalry.

Icap has bought a minority stake in Reynders, Gray & Co, according to a statement released yesterday. Financial details were not disclosed.
