London corporate finance firm predicts World Cup winner

Joachim Klement uses same statistical model that correctly predicted Germany's 2014 triumph

Corporate finance house Fidante Capital has predicted that France will claim victory in this year’s FIFA World Cup, snatching the trophy from defending champions Germany in the final.

Joachim Klement, head of investment research at Fidante, used a statistical model based on the percentage of games won by each country in previous World Cups — as well as several other macroeconomic factors — to determine who will win this year's tournament.
