London exchanges forge Asian ties

Two of London's stock exchanges have linked up with markets in the east in a bid to tap into surging trading volumes in the region

Two London exchanges have forged new alliances with Asian stock markets, in the latest sign of the increasing desire among European operators to tap into the strong growth of eastern markets.

The London Stock Exchange today revealed that it had come to an agreement with the National Stock Exchange of India, based in Mumbai, under which the two groups would "evaluate joint strategic business opportunities", according to an LSE statement.
