London fights back on hedge funds listings

The chairman of one of London's largest hedge fund managers, Marshall Wace, has said he plans to list a €1.4bn ($2bn) fund in London to boost liquidity, in a warning to Euronext that the easing of UK listing rules next month could bolster the competitiveness of the London Stock Exchange.

MW Tops floated in Amsterdam in December 2006 because of restrictions on the listing of single-strategy hedge funds in London that will be overturned in March.
