London has the highest percentage of people testing positive for the coronavirus in England, the Office for National Statistics revealed on 24 December.

Figures from the statistics agency show that in London the percentage of those testing positive has surged past 2.5%, with more than two thirds (68%) of those infected with the new strain of the virus.
