London is worst-hit region with one in 35 getting Covid infections

Levels of infection were varied across regions and highest in London, with one in 35 people infected

Infection levels in England are showing a “shallow decline” under lockdown, scientists have said, but are not decreasing fast enough – London had the highest proportion of people testing positive at 2.38% — or one in 35 people

London was among those with a decline in infection levels, according to the latest edition of Imperial College London’s REACT study published on 28 January. Infections in the capital went up to 4% in younger age groups, including 13 to 17-year-olds and 18 to 24-year-olds.
