London-listed songs fund scoops two music deals in two days

Latest acquisition gives the fund a slice of ongoing royalties from Fleetwood Mac’s iconic hits including ‘Go Your Own Way’ and ‘The Chain’

The Hipgnosis Songs Fund, a £1.3bn London-listed fund that buys up music rights, has announced two acquisitions in two days — adding royalties from iconic records by U2, Dire Straits and Fleetwood Mac to its portfolio.

On 5 January, the fund said it had bought the music catalogue of Lindsey Buckingham, the lead guitarist and vocalist of Fleetwood Mac — giving it a slice of continuing revenues from iconic hits including Go Your Own Way and The Chain, as well as his solo work.
