London luxury homes sold in 2012
Demand for super prime residential real estate in London remained strong in 2012, despite increased taxation, according to real estate adviser Savills. Last year there were over 400 sales in the capital worth in excess of £5m, with a total value of over £4.1bn, said the realtor.
Sales continue to be heavily concentrated in the core central postcodes: Belgravia, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Kensington and Mayfair. The total value of deals in this sector was slightly down on the 2011 peak: there were 62 known sales worth over £15m in 2012, compared to 72 in 2011, according to Savills.
