The London Metal Exchange has been forced to cancel a high-profile dinner and postpone a related seminar because of the coronavirus spreading across Asia.

In a notice sent to all its members on 14 February, the LME said it had been “difficult” to cancel the events, which had been due to take place in Hong Kong in early May.
