The chair of the London Metal Exchange is stepping down and will not seek re-election, the exchange said in a 5 January statement.

Gay Huey Evans will continue to support the board and executive until a new chair has been appointed, the LME said. She will take on the role of senior advisor to the LME’s owner Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.
