London pension fund to transfer cash to its sponsor

The London Pensions Fund Authority is pooling its spare cash with the Greater London Authority

The £4.6 billion London Pensions Fund Authority has decided to deposit its spare cash with its sponsor, the Greater London Authority political body, rather than keeping it in-house, as is common with pension schemes.

The move was initiated by LPFA director of finance Luke Webster, who joined in August, from the Greater London Authority, where he retains responsibility for treasury functions.
