Xavier Rolet has quit as chief executive of the London Stock Exchange Group following a month-long battle between the exchange's board and an activist investor that had sought to keep him at the helm.

The LSE has also said that its chairman Donald Brydon will not be seeking re-election at the group's 2019 annual general meeting.
