CVC Capital Partners, one of Europe’s largest alternative investment managers, is the only private equity firm to have provided evidence to an influential UK parliamentary committee conducting an enquiry into the European Union’s proposed regulations of the alternatives sector.
The firm said in a written submission to a House of Lords sub-committee holding an enquiry into the EU's alternative investment fund managers directive that the directive would offer no benefit, was "so poorly drafted that it creates a new category of risks and inefficiencies" and risked reducing capital flows to and from the EU as well as the relocation of fund managers from London.
